The Traveling Early Modern Philosophy Organization (TEMPO) welcomes submissions for our 2020 conference to be held in Washington, D.C.

Call for Abstracts

April 24-25, 2020, Washington, D.C.

Submissions are welcome on any aspect of Modern philosophy, roughly understood as the period from Montaigne through Mill.

Papers on British philosophy after Hume are particularly encouraged.

Submissions treating the Cambridge Platonists or the relationship of Hume to Kant will be given special consideration for plenary panels.

Keynote presentation: "Metaphysics and Early Modern Misogyny" by Julie Walsh (Wellesley College)

Panel on Mary Shepherd by Antonia LoLordo (University of Virginia), David Landy (San Francisco State University), and Louise Daoust (Eckerd College)

Please submit anonymized, 300-500 word abstracts prepared for blind review through Easychair (https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=tempo2020#).

Papers should ultimately be suitable for a 25 minute presentation, followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

Deadline for submissions: February 8th, 2020
