Critica invites submissions for its special issue on the metaphysics and representation of extensive magnitudes. Suitable topics include but are not limited to the following: the relationship between the metaphysics and representation of magnitudes; realist and intensional theories of magnitudes; the role of magnitudes in scientific laws and explanations; the evaluation of the programs of Patrick Suppes and Hartry Field in the light of recent work; the epistemology of understanding magnitude content; analog representation of magnitudes and analog computation; the metaphysics and representation of temporal magnitude.
Manuscripts should be submitted in English or Spanish and no more than 10,000 words in length. Submissions from scholars at the level of Associate Professor and below (or the equivalent) are particularly welcome. We are especially interested in manuscripts that address the following works by Christopher Peacocke: The Primacy of Metaphysics (2019), Magnitudes: Metaphysics, Explanation, and Perception (2015) and Temporal Perception, Magnitudes and Phenomenal Externalism (2017).
Submissions will be subject to double-blind review and only manuscripts that receive two positive reports will be considered acceptable. Submissions prepared for blind review must include an abstract and should be emailed to [email protected] by October 1st 2021.

Crítica: Revista Hispanoamericana de Filosofía is a quarterly open-access and peer-reviewed journal published by the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosóficas of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
With the help of various generations of Spanish and English speaking philosophers, Crítica has contributed significantly in establishing the analytic tradition especially in the Spanish speaking world. It was founded by Alejandro Rossi, Fernando Salmerón and Luis Villoro in 1967. Crítica has published contributions by such distinguished philosophers as Carlos Alchourrón, G.E.M. Anscombe, David Armstrong, Eugenio Bulygin, Héctor-Neri Castañeda, Hilary Putnam, W.V.O. Quine and Peter Strawson, among others.

Convocatoria:
Crítica invita a enviar manuscritos para un número especial sobre metafísica y representación de las magnitudes extensivas. Temas adecuados incluyen aunque no se limitan a los siguientes: la relación entre metafísica y representación de las magnitudes; teorías realistas e intensionales de magnitudes; el papel de las magnitudes en las leyes y explicaciones científicas; la evaluación de los programas de Patrick Suppes y Hartry Field a la luz de trabajos recientes; la epistemología de la comprensión del contenido de la magnitud; representación analógica de magnitudes y cálculo analógico; metafísica y representación de la magnitud temporal.
Los manuscritos deben enviarse en inglés o español, y no pueden superar las 10,000 palabras. El trabajo de académicos en el nivel de profesor asociado e inferior (o equivalente) es particularmente bienvenido. Nos interesan especialmente los manuscritos que abordan los siguientes trabajos de Christopher Peacocke: The Primacy of Metaphysics (2019), Magnitudes: Metaphysics, Explanation, and Perception (2015) y Temporal Perception, Magnitudes and Phenomenal Externalism (2017).
Los envíos estarán sujetos a dictamen doble ciego, y solo se considerarán aceptables los manuscritos que reciban dos dictámenes positivos. Las presentaciones preparadas para revisión ciega deben incluir un resumen y deben enviarse por correo electrónico a [email protected] antes del Octobre 1 2021.
