In my talk, I consider the idea of meaning in life as I believe it has arisen in some discussions of aging and death. I consider the views of Atul Gawande and Ezekiel Emanuel, connecting them to philosophical ideas of meaning in life, categorical desires to continue living, and the dignity of the person.
