The aim of inquiry is to attain something epistemically valuable – paradigmatically: truth, knowledge or understanding. We will address a number of core concepts and questions within this debate: What does epistemic value consist in? Does it derive from a uniform source? Should we aim for truth or for understanding? Is there a special epistemic value of logic, even on an anti-exceptionalist or pluralist view?
