Details

Ethical approaches to the body, as evidenced in dominant medical and demographic discourses often disregard the specificity of embodied experiences.  This conference aims to engage feminist scholars in a series of discussions concerned with problematizing ethical perspectives concerned with the body and with ways in which the body is localized and situated within philosophical discourse.

Paper topics may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Feminist Medical Ethics
  • Ethics of Disability
  • Ethical considerations of non-human bodies
  • Sustaining bodies
  • Food Ethics
  • The intersectional body
  • Care Ethics
  • Ethics of Race
  • Maternal Bodies and Ethics

250 word abstracts ought to be prepared for blind review and submitted via email to: Roxy Green ([email protected]), Allison Merrick ([email protected]), and Namita Goswami ([email protected]). Please put “ESWIP Submission” in the subject line of your email. Abstracts must be received by March 29th.  Determinations will be made and participants will be notified the first week of April.
