Details

With the Academy Edition’s publication of Kant’s lectures on anthropology (1997) and on physical geography (2009, forthcoming), the role of Kant’s lecturing activity has been drawing more and more deserved attention. Some of Kant’s lectures on logic, metaphysics, anthropology, and pedagogy have been translated into English and other languages, and several important studies have appeared. However, a great deal remains to be discussed. How does Kant’s teaching shed light on his philosophy and its development? We will examine Kant’s courses on metaphysics, logic, anthropology, geography, pedagogy (etc.), and their relations to his pre-critical and critical philosophy. We have an exciting group of speakers lined up.
