Details

The goal of the reading workshop "Is the philosophy of science a socially engaged discipline?" is twofold.

First, we will consider questions such as: what is the role of values in scientific research; what is the scope of scientific freedom and should scientific freedom have any limits; can science exist without democracy; are all scientists experts, and so forth.

Second, we will consider whether a philosophy of science that answers these questions could be considered as a socially engaged philosophical discipline.

The workshop will take place during April, May, and June. It will be held online, in English. Participation is possible for all interested.

The application deadline is March 31.
