Call for papers: Special Issue Nietzsche’s Untimely Meditations

Mutatis Mutandis: International Journal of Philosophy, and INTEMPESTIVA (The first Nietzschean Research Network of Chile) are pleased to invite academics, researchers, and grad students dedicated to Nietzsche's thought to contribute to a special issue dedicated to Nietzsche's Untimely Meditations. This issue aims to highlight Nietzsche's work around their Untimely Meditations, both in a historical dimension or in a contemporary perspective.

We invite submission of original papers addressing issues at least in one of the three fundamental themes in Nietzsche’s philosophy: Art, Culture, and Language. Specifically, the questions we seek to address in this issue include, but are not limited to: How to link these themes under an untimely perspective? How an untimely interpretation of our times could help to a better understanding of human existence? What are the philosophical implications of an analysis of contemporary art, culture, or language motivated by Nietzsche’s untimely style? In a broad sense, we encourage authors to contribute with works that motivate reflection on our contemporary situation either from, through, or against Nietzsche's thought.

We believe that Nietzsche provides very valuable clues to look at our times not only as their children [Kind seiner Zeit] but also as their stepchildren [Stiefkind] (following the metaphor exposed in the Third Section of the Third Untimely Meditation).

The call for papers is open to academics, researchers, and grad students (they can contribute with research articles, reviews, translations, and interviews). The CFP is open until August 15th, 2022.

Instructions for authors: Manuscripts should be written in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, in MLA format, and prepared for blind review. Manuscripts should not exceed the following extensions: For research articles, 10000 words; for reviews, 2000 words; for translations, 12000 words; and for interviews, 8000 words. In the case of research articles they should also include an abstract of up to 200 words and 3 or 5. The title of the manuscript (in any of its forms) must not exceed a maximum of 100 characters (with space). The title must be in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Both abstracts and keywords must be in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. For further instruction, please refer to the sections Submission Guidelines and Publication policies.

Cada documento será evaluado por pares evaluadores/as ciegos/as.

Se despiden cordialmente,
Equipo editorial Mutatis Mutandis y coordinadores invitados :
Begoña Pessis, miembro Red Intempestiva y académica Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
Sebastián León, Director Red Intempestiva y doctorando en Université de Reims Champagne Ardenne.
