A symposium in celebration of the life and work of Katherine Hawley will be held at the University of St Andrews on July 7, 2022.   

Katherine Hawley was a much loved and respected member of the Philosophy Department at St Andrews, who passed away in 2021. During her 22 years at St Andrews, Katherine established herself as a world-leading scholar in Metaphysics, Philosophy of Science, Epistemology, and Social Philosophy. Katherine is also remembered for her enormous contributions to the profession of philosophy through her generous mentorship, thought-provoking public philosophy, and compassionate academic leadership. The symposium will provide an opportunity to remember and honour Katherine’s enormous intellectual and personal contributions to philosophy.
