Details

As part of the Experimental Philosophical Aesthetics and Human Nature project (Marie Curie Action Grant PIIF-GA-2012-328977), the University of Leeds is hosting a series of workshops that brings together philosophers and empirical researchers to discuss topics of common interest. For each workshop, we reserved a 30-minute presentation slot for an early career philosopher—that is, someone who received his or her PhD within the last three years or who is not employed in a tenure-track or permanent position.

We invite submission of abstracts of 500-750 words from early career philosophers for presenting at upcoming workshops. The research described in the abstract must engage with the relevant workshop’s topic, but need not be experimental. The deadline is one month before each workshop.

Please send an abstract suitable for blind review as an attachment to [email protected]. Please include in the text of the email: your name, contact information, current affiliation, and the workshop topic.

Topics of upcoming workshops can be found at http://xphiaesthetics.wordpress.com/workshops/ .

Researchers whose abstracts are selected for presentation will receive reimbursement for their lodging and within-UK travel expenses. Underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to apply. Presentations will be selected on the basis of philosophical quality and relevance to the project’s aims.
