Details

Australia is at the centre of this shift. In 2020, Monash University established the country's first dedicated psychedelic research lab. In 2023, the Therapeutic Goods Administration created a regulated pathway for authorised psychiatrists to prescribe MDMA and psilocybin, making Australia one of the first countries to formalise clinical access to psychedelic-assisted therapy outside of clinical trials.

Multiple groups across the Asia-Pacific are now conducting world-first and world-class psychedelic research, assessing implementation in real-world clinics, asking questions across a diverse array of disciplines, manufacturing psychedelic compounds in novel ways, shaping novel policy, and developing psychedelic practice.

CAPS27 builds on that foundation. It's a forum for researchers, clinicians, policymakers, ethicists, cultural scholars, educators, industry leaders, and funders to meet, share evidence, build collaborations, and advance the field together.
