Oxford Brookes Philosophy hosts the regional branch of the Royal Institute of Philosophy. For the last three years we have been organising events under the ‘Why Philosophy Matters’ theme. For the new academic year we have decided to reinvigorate our events and are changing the title of our public lecture series to ‘Oxford Brookes Royal Institute of Philosophy Public Lectures’. We will be organising a series of engaging talks given by some of Britain’s most prominent philosophers. We will also be moving to a larger and more comfortable venue.

We are really pleased to announce that our first event on Wednesday 30th September 2015 at 6.00 p.m. will be a talk by Professor Tim Crane entitled ‘What is Psychological Reality?’ Tim is Knightbridge Professor of Philosophy at Cambridge University and is one of Britain’s leading philosophers of mind. For more details about him see his website: http://www.timcrane.com/

The event will be Chakrabarti Room in the John Henry Brookes Building located on our Gipsy Lane Site in Headington. Details of how to get there are here: http://www.brookes.ac.uk/about-brookes/visit-us/headington-campus/

This event is free and open too all, but please turn up early to guarantee yourself a seat!
