The Moscow Center for Consciousness Studies (MCCS) is hosting a summer school devoted to the problem of Free Will and Consciousness on July 10th – 23d 2016. The summer school will be led by philosopher Prof. Derk Pereboom of Cornell University.

Graduate students and recent PhDs are invited to submit applications to participate in this summer school. For two weeks, you will be hosted by MCCS in the beautiful city of Riga, Latvia.

MCCS will provide accommodation and breakfasts. We also will compensate 50% of your round trip ticket to Riga. We will provide two applicants with full travel expenses to and from Riga.

To apply for admission to the summer school, please submit a ten-page writing sample (2,500 to 3,000 words) that demonstrates your knowledge of current work on free will or on the relation between free will and consciousness and your own ideas about this topic. Please, also submit two letters of recommendation from philosophers working in this area (your supervisor or other qualified people who know your work), and a Curriculum Vitae.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 3d, 2016.
