Details

The concepts of character and personality play important roles in moral philosophy, legal theory, and public policy. But there is considerable debate over how these concepts should be understood, how they are related to values, goals, attitudes, beliefs, desires, and automatic cognitive processing. This conference will bring together philosophers, psychologists, and other researchers leading this debate to discuss their current work.

Researchers wishing to present work at the conference are invited to submit abstracts of no more than 1000 words by the deadline of 31 January. Please bear in mind that presentations should last no more than 30 minutes and should take the form of lectures rather than paper readings. Authors of selected abstracts may be invited to submit a full version of the paper for publication in an edited book with a leading academic publisher.

Abstracts should be prepared for anonymous review. Please submit as doc or pdf attachments to [email protected] with 'Paris submission' in the subject line. Please include author details in the body of the email.

Deadline for submission of abstracts: 31 January 2012

Selection decisions will be emailed by: 29 February 2012
