To make this virtual meeting as successful as possible, it will have a somewhat different format from prior meetings. Submission can be accepted as a "talk" or a "poster".
(1) Presenters of posters will be asked to record a 5-minute video presentation summarizing their work. The video can include on-screen text, images, animations, and so on. Subtitles are especially welcome. These presentations will be linked to additional background information, which can be a traditional poster, additional video content, a paper, a website, or another format that you feel will best engage conference attendees with your work.
The video and linked materials will be available on the conference website prior to and during the conference, and registered attendees will be able to access all these materials ahead of time.
During the conference, they will then host a virtual live "office hour" where they will be available to answer questions and chat with those interested in their work.
(2) Presenters of talks will participate in thematically linked live discussion sessions. In these sessions, they will spend 20 minutes presenting their work, after which there will be a general discussion among all session participants (including audience members).
The keynotes, Stanton lecture, invited symposia, and presidential address will also all take place live.
Further questions about the meeting format should be directed to the program co-chairs, Armin Schulz and Christina Starmans. This page will be updated with more information about the 2021 program as details are available.
