The UMass Amherst Philosophy Department will host a conference in honor of Eileen O’Neill (1953–2017). This conference will take place in-person on April 28–30, 2023 in Amherst, MA. There will be two keynote speakers: Marcy Lascano and Christia Mercer. In addition, there will be four submitted papers by early-career scholars with commentaries by senior scholars. All papers will be on topics related to Eileen O’Neill’s work, which includes early modern women philosophers, early modern debates about causation (especially occasionalism), and the mind-body problem.
The schedule is attached. All events except the dinner and banquet are open to the public.
