Philosophy and Emotion at Nottingham

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Philosophy and Emotion Conference at Nottingham, to be held in person on the 17th of April 2026.

This event is generously funded by The MIND Association, seeking to bring together philosophers and scholars who are interested in exploring the significance of emotion both within philosophical enquiry and across a range of other disciplines. 

Topics 

Our invited speakers will present their work on a range of topics:

• Pablo Fernandez Velasco (University of Oxford) - Ecological Grief and Transformative Experience

• Eugenia Stefanello (University of Padua) - Empathy and Affective Injustice: The Case for Empathic Ignorance 

• Wanda von Knobelsdorff (University of Oxford) - Afraid of the Other: A Sartrean Account of Ordinary Social Anxiety
